Designed for Elegance

Perfect for small and medium rooms, T/5x seats perfectly into any décor. Floor-firing is part of its secret; bass energy strikes the floor and spreads uniformly throughout the space making it perform like a larger model. For those picky about style, the hidden bonus is this design eliminates even the grill, rendering it the purest of forms.

Slightly larger in volume than its predecessor, it actually appears to be smaller due subtle design changes to minimize it’s visual presence. Finally, 5 hand polished coats of lacquer in your choice of High Gloss White or Piano Black add luster to the softly rounded cabinetry.

Design

Designed for Elegance

Many don’t realize the intense linkage between performance and design here at REL. Performance is everything to us and so it drives physical design revisions. Our engineers, recognizing the need for greater acoustic volume to achieve the goals of greater fluidity and power, turn to the designer who works dimensions to fool the eye into seeing a smaller, more compact footprint even though cabinet volume increases. Using gently rounded corner radii that allows the eye to flow over and see less visual mass. The result is both modern and familiar with no unnecessary adornment.

Driver

Faster & Deeper

T/5x borrows a single longthrow 8” (200mm) bass engine from its elder sibling, T/7x. Developed using a composite of aluminum and light paper, this cone captures details that will amaze, while supplying sufficient energy to plumb deeper than one would expect for its size. In T/5x, its throw–the ability to play louder–has been increased. Internally, the suspension received numerous upgrades akin to transforming the handling of a car from a family sedan to a true sports car. More power, greater finesse.

Amplifier

Amplified Power

T/5x builds on its predecessor’s reliable, expensive 125 W Class A/B amplifiers. Internally, key items significant to upgrading transparency and speed have been upgraded at no cost to REL’s legendary reliability. Separate inputs for High Level Inputs, Low Level Input (necessary for the increasing number of powered active speakers emerging on the market) allow for a natural, perfect transition from speaker to subwoofer. And in theater a separate, dedicated .1/LFE Input for Theatre performance permits automatic transition between music in high end 2-channel applications and home theater without needing to change a single setting. Magic? No, superior engineering.

Standby Mode switch is only included on 220V units.

Wireless

Zero Compression Wireless

At REL, we’ve developed a sterling reputation for building the finest sounding, fastest wireless systems available in the industry. REL never rely upon digital compression as it results in thin, lifeless sound. Instead, we have perfected an (optional) Arrow™ Wireless system; so fast and dynamic we’re comfortable encouraging the use of wireless on one channel of a pair of RELs while the other channel may be connected hardwired with cable.

What are the benefits of adding the T/5x to my system?

The REL T/5x delivers fast, clean bass in an ultra-compact form—designed to produce deep, tactile low frequencies with precision. To achieve this, we use an 8" active driver paired with a 125-watt Class A/B amplifier. It integrates seamlessly into stereo systems, enhancing clarity and depth without drawing visual attention, while also adding punch and presence to movie soundtracks.

Is the T/5x good for both music and home theatre systems?

Yes, the T/5x is excellent for both dedicated music systems and mixed-use setups where you enjoy music and movies on the same system. Every model in the T/x line is a dual-purpose subwoofer, meaning you can connect in two ways simultaneously—for music and for movies. This is made possible by a dedicated LFE input with its own volume control, separate from the high- and low-level music inputs and controls.
The T/5x delivers fast, natural bass with depth and authority. For music, it enhances texture, timing, and soundstage; for home theater, it adds weight and realism to every scene—all while preserving the speed and clarity that define REL’s musical approach to low bass.

Can T/5x be integrated with other REL subwoofer series?

Yes, the T/5x can be integrated with other REL models. Th is comes in handy when building a REL 3D set up where you can mix and match differnt models and pair them with differnt sets of speakers in your theater set ups. For stereo paris 2 of the same model is required to achieve the stereo effect In theater setups, it works beautifully alongside other series—such as HT or Serie S- to improve impact, clarity, and balance for realism that is sure to make you smile.

Is the T/5x wireless compatible?

Yes, T/5x is compatible with our Arrow Wireless System equipped with all the same inputs that is found on the rear amp panel. The Arrow provides high-performance wireless operation with zero compression and extremely low latency, making it ideal for subwoofers that a far away from your gear or if you want a clean cable free installation.

What size room is ideal for T/5x?

The T/5x performs best in small rooms, typically between 75 and 200 square feet. Its compact size and tight, responsive bass make it an ideal choice for apartments, bedrooms, or dedicated listening rooms where subtlety and finesse matter more than sheer output. For slightly larger spaces, consider a stereo pair of T/5x units; for much larger rooms, the T/7x or T/9x may be more appropriate.

Can I stack T/5x subwoofers in a line array?

No, the T/5x is not designed for vertical line array stacking, and we strongly advise against it. However, it performs exceptionally well in stereo pair configurations for music or as part of a REL 3D setup. For vertical stacking applications, consider stepping up to the HT/1510 Predator or our Serie S subwoofers.

"When something is good it's easy to describe in my opinion. So, I don't care what descriptor you want to use for sound quality, you can talk about integration, speed, articulation, bass note distinction, textures and so on. This thing is great, it's phenomenal. One of the best"

"The low end of the Soul 6 is a tad lightweight. I wish it had a little more low end so I popped in the T/5x, played with those controls a bit. 5 minutes and I was in. It transformed the sound of the Soul 6. It made it sound like a bigger speaker."
