Arrow Wireless: Freedom Without Compromise

John Hunter reveals how Arrow Wireless brings REL’s clarity and power

The below text is a transcription from the video.

Hey there, John Hunter from REL back with you.  How are you? I am sitting here with the Arrow.

Now, the Arrow has been in, I believe, continuous production for something like 13 years. It is incredible in this day and age. This is intended for use with our Serie T/x's, and that's the only one it works with, and it works beautifully with those. This is in some ways the most perfectly realized system with all the interconnectivity and things.

So for example, we use a DB9 connector. This cute little thing. Remember how printers had printer cables and they locked in? You had little two little knurled screws you locked in into threaded chamfers and it would lock and it would never come undone. Remember those days? It's a while ago. Great connectors. Well, we use them here because we don't want this to ever fall off the back of your valve. This is the receiver. Absolutely gorgeous little, beautifully polished piece. It's got an on off and it's got a pairing switch. That's it. And you plug this guy into the back. There are a couple of tiny little screws and you can snug this thing down and it will never fall out of the back of your RA even though it is vibrating and pounding like mad. And then stop. We did the same thing with this very cool, very weighty, beautifully produced transmitter box.

So, this one's actually been mounted and it's got the screws and you can see them right here. And it is an absolute modern work of art. It's so simple. You've got the ability to take, let me turn this around, our high traditional High Level cable, which plugs in and locks in here. That works great. It also has the ability to come into this with the .1/LFE. So, in one very simple, elegant, you can't get it wrong. You just plug these two locking connectors in. Plug in the supplied power supply for this. This one gets its power from inside the REL, meaning the plus or minus 5 volts is all supplied through that same connector. No muss, no fuss. It uses 2.4 gig. 2.4 gig is a beautiful system now because everybody's moved up to 5.8 gig and it's much more congested in a world in which every device in your home is trying to talk to your Wi-Fi on 5.8 gig.

All of a sudden you have this piece that's a modern piece that works great and almost never fails and is operating on a totally different bandwidth and it leaves everything open for this to work perfectly with none of the breakthrough and interruption that can come from sharing everything else in the house on a common 5.8 gig supply.

This is a great piece. It's been a great system. I frankly see no reason to ever change off of this system for the T/x’s. They work great. They're incredibly reliable. They sound great and they're so easy to operate. We get very few of these ever returned. These are really well engineered to just be so easy to use and jus
