Subwoofers properly scaled to your room & integrated into the system deliver the full range experience.

Myth number five, 'Any subwoofer will work with any system.' I have a hard time actually giving a straight face on that one. Sure, I suppose at its most basic sense, you can undoubtedly plug any subwoofer into any system.
When it comes to performance and audio, you have to get it matched up properly. If you don't, it's just not going to give you long-term joy.
I got into a conversation with a pretty wealthy guy, and he wanted to take me to task because our then T/5i, now a T/5x, wasn't doing what he had expected it when he got home. He had a pair of $30,000 Bowers and Wilkins, and he had purchased a at the time $500 subwoofer. I was able to take him into the demo room and show him what at a minimum a pair of our S/812s could do and he was completely floored.
So, it's incredibly important that you get the sizing of the sub relative to the speaker and both of those relative to the room right.
It's about getting things properly scaled and therefore properly integrated into your system in your room.
