The Most T/i Available

The Series Flagship

T/9i represents the most of T/i that we can deliver, and if sheer output alone is a primary requirement for your theater or music system then read no further. The combination of a lightweight, composite 10” driver coupled to a matching 10” T/i passive delivers speed, slam and attack when called upon but also is capable of tracing more delicate passages when necessary. Large in sonic scale, the T/9i is ideal for mating up with floor standing speakers and rooms that are on the medium-to-large size. Powerful, concussive, yet beautiful.

design

Reimagined, Then Reengineered

A completely redesigned flagship

T/9i delivers more than just raw output. We started with our driver upgrades and built outward. The lovely cabinets grew by 4 lbs. (1.8 kg) over its predecessor due to thicker cabinet walls and improved bracing. Why? Because the additional speed and impact of the new drivers requires greater control or the benefits can be lost before they get to the listener.

driver

Outsized Performance

Innovative Alloy/Fibre Bass Engines

The new composite alloy/fibre engine in T/9i blends precisely the correct dimension of stiffening alloy with a fibre material chosen for its sonic neutrality and light weight. The combination is brilliant; exceeding the performance of competitors’ drivers that are many times more expensive. The forward-firing 10” active couples with a 10” down-firing passive, again with carefully chosen balances of alloy to fibre and the result is seamless, effortlessly deep bass that blends perfectly with the main speakers.

Zero Compression Wireless

Introducing Arrow™

Following on the heels of the acclaimed LongBow™ Wireless, Arrow delivers much of the promise and connectivity of hardwired RELs with the placement flexibility and pure cool factor of great wireless for all of T/i. For a reasonable sum, Arrow gives you the ability to place subs in distant corners, along glass walls, or on hardwood floors where a cable would otherwise destroy the effect.

Get two if you can!

I was happy with a single T/9i for about 2 years and then I added a second T/9i to make a stereo pair. Wow! All the sonic effects I had come to love about my single sub became more abundant. It's not louder as some people worry... It just fills the room better!

Once Dialed in, Remarkable Sound Quality

An informed person suggested I try these with my Magnepan 3.7i's. The Maggies do not go much lower than 50 Hz in my listening room, so I knew I could get some improvement. REL's offer of free returns made the decision to try a pair easy, and I received them within a few days.
At first, I had the T/9i's set too high in level and crossover, so I kept dialing them back. I also found that I liked how they sound best when placed to the outside of and slightly behind each Maggie (REL's support articles are a big help), as opposed to placement near the corners of the front wall.
I am still tweaking my setup. But as of now, I don't hear the REL's as specific sound sources. I just hear more extension from my Maggies, which now sound like more balanced, near-full range speakers. Most importantly, listening is more enjoyable!

Great Subwoofer for modest cost!

I purchased this as part of a $10k Canadian 5.1 system c/w tv. I wanted the best system I could get for my not so huge budget. The T9i Was the obvious choice for my system. It easily fills my medium sized room with bass. Excellent detail.

My only complaint about the T9i is the front grill. I pulled the cover on and off about 5 times and about the 6th time the pressboard frame of the grill gave way. Now the studs don’t stay in. This should be made of a stronger material like plywood.

Stereo pair

I am happy with my purchase of a stereo pair of the T/9i’s. This was a move from a single large sub to a pair of smaller, and the imaging and definition is well worth the switch.

Definate upgrade to my system

I was upgrading from a Sunfire II, so maybe my perspective is skewed. But, I absolutely love this sub. Not boomy when the movie gets loud yet still gives support to the lower register. For music it shines bright. You can't tell where the sub is located. It just adds to the bottom of the music while blending well with the main speakers. Very happy with this purchase.
